Sailing Basics Course with SSYC

Learn the basics of how to sail with SSYC skippers

Seattle Singles Yacht Club offers sailing classes each spring with both classroom and on the water instruction.  This year’s classes have been rescheduled for May 15, 22 and 29th 2019, at Captain’s Nautical Supplies, 1120 NW Ballard Way, Seattle. Classes run from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Cost is $75, a bargain compared to comparable classes offered in the area.   Membership in SSYC is not required to take the class.

The Basic Sailing Course offers  classroom training with SSYC experienced sailors and provides a solid foundation of sailing basics.  The  $75 registration fee includes a comprehensive textbook, course notes, three classes and  on-the-water practice  sail with a seasoned skipper.

Upon completion of the three classes, students may sign up to sail with SSYC skippers in order to practice what they’ve learned.  These classes provide a good introduction to sailing, especially for those who’ve never been on a sailboat or have minimal experience.  Plus, it’s a great opportunity to get out on the water on a sailboat!   After successful completion, students receive a certificate of class completion.

Sign up for the class either by attending a Monday night meeting of the Seattle Singles Yacht Club, or through PayPal below.  The singles boating Club meets each Monday at China Harbor Restaurant’s ballroom on the second floor. China Harbor’s address is: 2040 Westlake Ave. N., Seattle.  Happy Hour starts at 7 p.m. with the  meeting at 7:30 p.m. For more information about the class:
