First Place winners

S/V Surt and crew captured First Place in the Seattle Yacht Club’s Decorated Sail division during the 2018 Opening Day parade.  This year’s theme was Ocean Crossings and this group channeled the popular TV show, Gilligan’s Island.

Northwest Harvest Fundraiser

Every fall, Seattle Singles Yacht Club raises money for a local food bank–Northwest Harvest. This year’s event was Sept. 22nd, and included a sailboat race, auction, dinner and dance.

Non-boating Activities

Seattle Single Yacht Club members are active even when away from the water! In addition to Monday night meetings and dances,  club members gather for Happy Hours on Fridays and sometimes Thursdays. They plan trips to local museums, wine tastings and other special events throughout the year.  An SSYC member’s social calendar is always full!

Happy Hours

Every Friday, Club members meet at a Seattle-area pub for drinks and small plates. The changing locations are announced at Monday meetings and published in the newsletter that is sent to  members. The venues are  also on the  Calendar on this website. SSYC Eastside members meet the third Thursday each month for an additional get together on the Eastside of Lake Washington.  Occasionally, extra happy hours are scheduled for both the North and Sound parts of Puget Sound. But, no matter where you live, please join us for conversation, boat talk and good company!

Dance Nights

Seattle Singles host dance nights almost every second Monday of each month right after the regular meeting. Throughout the year there are themed dances to match the season. The Halloween Dance with a costume contest is always a favorite. Other special dances include Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s, Christmas, a Northwest Harvest Gala fundraiser and the Commodore’s Ball.

Everyone is invited to attend SSYC dances, single or partnered and club membership is not required. Dances start immediately after the weekly meeting, usually around 8:30 p.m.
